BOOKING & WORKING WITH A TRAVEL AGENT
How much does a travel agent cost?
My service is completely free. Travel agents are paid by the cruise lines and resorts, not by you. You pay the same price (or often less) booking through me as you would booking directly, but you get expert guidance, someone handling all the details, and an advocate if anything goes wrong.
Why should I use a travel agent instead of booking online myself?
Because I do this every day and you don't. I know which cabin categories are the best value, which resorts actually match your vibe, when to book for the best price, and what promotions are running that you'd never find on your own. I also handle everything if something goes wrong — flight cancellations, itinerary changes, resort issues. You get a personal advocate for free.
How does the booking process work?
It's simple. You tell me where you want to go (or ask me to recommend something), I put together options and pricing, you pick what you love, and I handle everything from there — reservations, payments, dining, excursions, all of it. We can do everything by phone, text, or email. I'm based in Denton, Texas but I work with clients nationwide.
When should I book my vacation?
As early as possible. For cruises, 8-12 months out gets you the best cabin selection and often the best pricing. For all-inclusive resorts, 3-6 months is typical. Disney World trips should be planned 6-8 months ahead for dining reservations. Last-minute deals exist, but you sacrifice choice for price. I always recommend booking early and watching for price drops — I'll adjust your booking if the price goes down.
Do I pay you or the cruise line / resort directly?
You pay the cruise line or resort directly — I never handle your money. I facilitate the booking, but your payment goes straight to the travel provider. Your booking is protected by the same policies and guarantees as if you'd booked directly.
CRUISES
Is Virgin Voyages all inclusive?
Yes — more than most cruise lines. Every Virgin Voyages fare includes WiFi, 20+ restaurants (no buffets), sodas and coffee, group fitness classes, all entertainment and shows, and tips. The only extras are alcohol, spa treatments, and shore excursions. That's over $1,000 in included value before you even board. No other major cruise line includes all of that in the base fare.
What's the difference between Virgin Voyages and other cruise lines?
Virgin Voyages is adults-only (18+), has no buffets, no main dining room with assigned seating, and no hidden fees. It feels more like a boutique hotel or yacht club than a traditional cruise ship. The vibe is modern, design-forward, and social. Other cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Norwegian are great for families and offer a more traditional cruise experience with bigger ships and more onboard activities for kids.
Do I need a passport for a Caribbean cruise?
For closed-loop cruises (departing and returning to the same US port), US citizens can technically cruise with just a birth certificate and government-issued photo ID. However, I always strongly recommend having a valid passport. If there's a medical emergency and you need to fly home from a foreign port, you'll need a passport. It also speeds up embarkation and gives you peace of mind. A passport is required for any cruise that departs from one port and arrives at another.
What's included in a cruise fare?
This varies by cruise line. On Virgin Voyages, almost everything is included (see above). On most other lines, your fare includes your cabin, main dining room meals, buffet, basic entertainment, and use of pools and fitness centers. Extras typically include specialty dining, alcohol, WiFi, spa, shore excursions, and gratuities. Many lines offer all-inclusive packages that bundle drinks, WiFi, and tips at a discount.
What's the best cruise line for first-timers?
It depends on who you are. For couples or friend groups, Virgin Voyages is my top pick — everything's included and the vibe is incredible. For families, Royal Caribbean or Norwegian have the most activities for all ages. For a more refined experience, Celebrity Cruises hits the sweet spot between mainstream and luxury. I match you with the right line based on your travel style — that's literally what I do.
Should I buy cruise travel insurance?
Yes, always. I recommend third-party travel insurance (not the cruise line's own plan) for the best coverage. It protects you if you need to cancel for medical reasons, if your flight gets delayed and you miss the ship, or if there's a medical emergency onboard. Hurricane season Caribbean cruises especially need insurance. I can help you find the right policy.
What are the best months to cruise?
Caribbean: December through April for the best weather, May through November for the best prices. Mediterranean: June through September, with June and September being the sweet spot for weather and crowds. Alaska: May through September, with July being peak. The "best" month depends on your priorities — weather, price, or crowds. I'll help you find the right balance.
DISNEY VACATIONS
Disneyland vs Disney World — which one should I go to?
They're completely different experiences. Disney World in Orlando has four theme parks, two water parks, and 25+ resorts spread across 25,000 acres — it's a full week vacation. Disneyland in Anaheim has two parks and can be done in 2-3 days. Disney World has more rides and more to do. Disneyland has Walt's personal touch and a more intimate charm. For a first Disney trip with kids, I usually recommend Disney World. For a shorter trip or adults, Disneyland is fantastic.
How far in advance should I plan a Disney World trip?
Start planning 8-10 months out. Disney resort reservations open 499 days in advance. Dining reservations open 60 days out and the best restaurants fill up fast. Lightning Lane Multi Pass becomes available 7 days before for resort guests and 3 days for others. The more planning you do ahead of time, the smoother your trip. That's exactly why people use me — I build day-by-day itineraries optimized for crowd levels and wait times.
Is a Disney Cruise worth it?
Absolutely — especially for families. Disney Cruise Line has the best kids' programming at sea, Broadway-caliber shows, character dining, and Castaway Cay (Disney's private island in the Bahamas). The ships are immaculately maintained and the attention to detail is pure Disney. They're more expensive than other cruise lines, but you get what you pay for. Adults-only areas, fine dining, and the spa are surprisingly great too.
What's the best time to visit Disney World?
Lowest crowds: mid-January through mid-February, and mid-September through mid-November (excluding holidays and marathon weekends). Best weather: March through May and October through November. Most magical: the holidays (November through December) — the parks are stunning but crowded. I always recommend weekdays over weekends and build itineraries based on crowd calendars.
ALL-INCLUSIVE RESORTS
What's the difference between Sandals and Secrets?
Both are adults-only luxury all-inclusive brands, but they have different vibes. Sandals is couples-only (you must be with a partner), tends to be more romantic and intimate, and has iconic overwater bungalows at select locations. Secrets (now part of Hyatt) welcomes all adults, tends to have a more social and lively atmosphere, and has properties across Mexico and the Caribbean. Both are excellent — the right choice depends on your travel style and what you're looking for.
What does all-inclusive actually include?
At most quality all-inclusive resorts, your rate covers your room, all meals at multiple restaurants, unlimited drinks (including alcohol), room service, pool and beach access, non-motorized water sports, entertainment, and tips. Some resorts also include scuba diving (Sandals), spa credits, or golf. Premium services like private dining, certain excursions, and upgraded liquor may cost extra. I always clarify exactly what's included before you book.
Are all-inclusive resorts a good value?
Usually, yes — especially if you're the type who enjoys dining, drinking, and activities. When you add up what you'd spend at a regular resort for meals, drinks, tips, and entertainment, all-inclusive often comes out ahead. The biggest value is the peace of mind — no surprise bills, no mental math at dinner, just pure relaxation. The best value all-inclusive destinations are Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
What's the best all-inclusive resort for families?
Beaches Resorts (by Sandals) in Turks & Caicos or Jamaica are the gold standard for family all-inclusive vacations — Sesame Street characters, waterparks, kids clubs, and Sandals-level quality. Dreams Resorts by Hyatt are also fantastic for families with great kids programming across Mexico and the Caribbean. Hyatt Ziva properties in Cancún and Jamaica are another excellent family option with Hyatt points eligibility.
HONEYMOONS
When should I start planning my honeymoon?
Start at least 6-8 months before your wedding date. Popular honeymoon resorts and cruise cabins book up fast, especially during peak season (December through April). If you're going to Europe or doing a custom itinerary, 8-12 months is even better. The earlier you start, the more options you'll have and the better pricing you'll find. I handle everything so you can focus on the wedding.
What's the best honeymoon destination?
That depends entirely on what kind of couple you are. Beach and relaxation? Sandals in Jamaica or St. Lucia. Adventure? An Alaska or Mediterranean cruise. Romance and culture? Italy or Greece. Modern and fun? Virgin Voyages. Disney magic? Aulani in Hawai'i or a Disney cruise. I ask you a few questions about your vibe, budget, and interests, and then I match you with the perfect destination.
Is a cruise good for a honeymoon?
It's one of the best honeymoon options out there. You visit multiple destinations, dine at incredible restaurants every night, and never have to pack and unpack. Virgin Voyages is my top cruise honeymoon pick — adults-only, incredibly romantic, with RockStar Suites that include champagne, a private terrace, and thermal spa access. Celebrity Cruises is another fantastic option with their stunning ships and all-inclusive packages.
GROUP TRAVEL
How many people do I need for a group cruise?
Most cruise lines offer group perks starting at 6-8 cabins. Virgin Voyages group benefits kick in at 8 cabins. Norwegian starts at 6. The perks are real — onboard credit, free drinks packages, cabin upgrades, and sometimes complimentary cabins for the group organizer. Even if you're not sure you'll hit the minimum, let me set it up. People often add on once they hear about it.
Can you help plan a girls' trip or bachelorette cruise?
That's one of my favorite things to book. Virgin Voyages is perfect for girls' trips and bachelorette groups — adults-only, amazing party atmosphere, Scarlet Night (their signature red party), and the Bimini Beach Club is incredible. I coordinate everything so the group organizer doesn't have to chase down 15 people for payments and preferences. Everyone books through me and I keep it all organized.
Do you plan destination weddings?
Yes! Sandals and Beaches resorts have incredible destination wedding packages — some even include a free wedding with your stay. I coordinate the room blocks for your guests, group rates, welcome events, and all the travel logistics so you can focus on the actual wedding. Cruise weddings are also an option — several cruise lines offer onboard wedding packages.
TRAVEL BASICS
Do I need travel insurance?
I strongly recommend it for any trip over $1,000. Travel insurance protects you if you need to cancel for medical reasons, if your flight is delayed or cancelled, if your luggage is lost, or if there's a medical emergency during your trip. I recommend third-party insurance (like Allianz or Travel Guard) over the cruise line or resort's own plans for better coverage and pricing. Cancel-for-any-reason policies cost more but give you the most flexibility.
How do I get the best price on a cruise or resort?
Book early for the best selection, and let me monitor the price after you book. If the price drops before final payment, I can often get your booking adjusted to the lower rate. I also have access to promotions and group rates that aren't available when booking directly online. Flexibility with travel dates helps a lot — shifting by even a week can save hundreds.
What if I need to cancel or change my trip?
Cancellation policies vary by cruise line and resort. Most cruise lines allow cancellation with a full refund up until final payment (usually 90 days before sailing). After that, penalties increase as you get closer to departure. This is where travel insurance becomes important. I walk you through the cancellation policy before you book so there are no surprises, and I handle all changes and cancellations for you.
I've never been on a cruise. Is it right for me?
Probably yes. Modern cruises are nothing like what your grandparents did. Virgin Voyages feels like a floating boutique hotel. Royal Caribbean's ships have rock climbing walls, surf simulators, and entire neighborhoods. Norwegian lets you do whatever you want with no fixed schedule. If you love food, there's incredible dining. If you love relaxation, there's spa and pool. If you love adventure, there are ports to explore. The hardest part is picking which one — and that's where I come in.
